Or better yet, have you paid for several years of dues in advance, so you will not have to bother paying them again for a while? If you are not up-to-date on your dues, this will be the last issue of GMC Vintage RVing magazine that you will receive. Please send your dues in pronto if you have not sent them in yet.The Spring Convention at Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona, April 6-12 looks to be one for the record books. The site is beautiful – you can even pick your own grapefruit, oranges, and lemons from the trees in the park. There are five Western GMC Clubs utilizing this Convention as their Spring Rallies including GMCCascaders, GMC Mountainaires, GMC Pacific Cruisers, GMC Saguaro Jetsetters, and GMC Western States. I believe that this is a record number of clubs to utilize a GMCMI Convention for their event. We will see many new GMC friends, many old GMC friends that we do not often see, and many unfamiliar GMCs. There will be excellent technical and non-technical seminars, some by presenters new to us. See page 18 in this magazine for more details and registration form. All in all, it looks to be a great event! The Tucson area has many attractions including the Pima Air and Space Museum, the mothballed fleet of military aircraft at Davis-Monthan Airbase, Saguaro National Park, The Arizona Desert Museum, a Titan Missile Silo, a copper mine, an astronomical observatory (or two) and probably ten million cacti. Certainly enough to justify planning three or four days extra time in the Tucson area. And as a bonus, whichever part of the country, or any other country, you are coming from, there are lots of interesting and awesome sights tosee along the way. Why not take a few extra days and make a road trip out of it. And to help you plan that, on the gmcmi.comwebsite under the “Latest News” tab, there is a line “Road Trip to Tucson” to help you out with some suggested sights to see or add one of your own.Down the road, we can look forward to the Fall Convention at The Amana Colonies, Iowa, September 21-27 where wewill celebrate “Christmas in September”, and hunt for the “Tallahassee Treasure” at the 2019 Spring Convention at theNorth Florida Fairgrounds, Tallahassee, Florida, March 22-28.Oh, by the way, while you are on the website, click on the “Marketplace” tab, then “The GMCMH Store,” then “Shop Now.” This will take you to the GMCMI Store which was launched in December for the convenience of our club members. We hope to see you in Tucson and wherever our paths may cross down the road.“All in all,it looks to be a great event!”– STAN EDWARDS, GMCMI PRESIDENT2 GMC VINTAGE RVING MAGAZINE | GMCMI.COM
